About OCCH

The mission of OCCH is "to cause the construction, rehabilitation and preservation of affordable housing in Ohio".

The Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing is an independent, mission-driven nonprofit corporation that works with private and public developers to create affordable housing opportunities. OCCH connects projects with resources by raising capital for investment, providing technical assistance, submitting funding applications, and assisting with project development and asset management, primarily in conjunction with the low-income housing tax credit program.

The Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing was formed in 1989 by the Ohio Housing Finance Agency. As an independent, 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation, OCCH is guided by a board of directors that represent some of state’s top leaders in finance, real estate and community development. OCCH’s mission is to cause the construction, rehabilitation and preservation of affordable housing in Ohio.

Since its inception, OCCH has raised more than $1.4 billion in corporate equity through 17 funds and completed over 375 transactions, creating more than 19,000 units of affordable housing.

OCCH develops solutions, not only for housing developers, but also for local governments, financial institutions and low- and moderate-income households. While well known for its expertise in Housing Tax Credits, OCCH also provides training and technical assistance in other areas of affordable housing, including asset and portfolio management services as well as CHDO training and technical assistance.
