Columbus Monthly Showcases Tax Credit Investment, Including Community Properties of Ohio

The Real Estate section of January's Columbus Monthly featured "Tax Credit Bonanza" – an article detailing how property investors are using federal and Ohio-based historic tax credits to preserve and rehabilitate local real estate. Having tax credits available has had a significant impact on the economy and increased interest in the Ohio market, benefitting the affordable community as well as high-end projects. Featured in the article is Judy Williams, a local historic preservation consultant who worked with OCCH and its affiliate, Community Properties of Ohio, on a $100 million preservation and rehabilitation project that involved more than 200 inner-city buildings and over 1,300 units of affordable housing. The article also features the restoration of the Atlas Building, former site of the Columbus Savings and Trust Company in downtown Columbus. Michael Schiff, principal at Schiff Capital Group of Columbus, is planning a $15 million renovation of the site.
