For more than 17 years, the Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing (OCCH) has raised both awareness and funding to drive the creation of affordable neighborhoods throughout Ohio. For the 16th consecutive year, OCCH has attracted millions of dollars in investment in affordable housing in Ohio. These dollars are used in communities throughout Ohio to build new rental housing developments, rehabilitate older housing, create single-family homes, and turn empty, historic buildings into convenient downtown living.
With more than $1 billion in investment and over 16,000 housing units either built or in progress, OCCH is a significant contributor in Ohio's affordable housing production. A major player in the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit program, OCCH has the experience, financial strength and capacity to help shape Ohio's affordable housing climate for tomorrow.
The affordable housing community relies on the commitment of private investors to finance the developments that give hope to low income Ohioans. The success of OCCH's continued increased investments does not come from actively seeking new investors, but by fostering existing relationships. These long-term relationships with our investors are the backbone of our operations. Many of the investors that represent the $193 million OEF XVI have been investing in Ohio Equity Funds since our initial $8.1 million OEF I in 1989.
