Breas Crossing Ground Breaking

A partnership among Housing Services Alliance, Inc., Breas Crossing GP, LLC, and the Woda Group, Inc. will help to create a new 44-unit senior development in Shelbyville, Kentucky.  Breas Crossing will be comprised of eight single-story patio homes with single car garages. The development will include 24 one-bedroom homes and 20 two-bedroom homes, all targeted to households at 50 and 60 percent of the local area median income. 

The $6.3 million development will feature one building with a community room that includes the rental office, laundry facilities, exercise room, computer room, and kitchenette.  There will also be a community garden for the residents.

Home amenities will include window treatment, washer/dryer hookups, full kitchens, and a help/call system. Shelbyville Multi-Purpose Community Action Agency will offer supportive services to the residents which will include exercise classes, craft classes, meals on wheels and more.

Breas Crossing was developed using a combination of Low Income Housing Tax Credits administered through Kentucky Housing Corporation and a construction loan provided by RiverHills Bank.   Equity investment was provided by Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing.
