Commons at Madaline Park II

(Commons at Madaline Park II Offers 60 units of Permanent Supportive Housing in Akron, Ohio)

July 15, 2016 —Testa Enterprises, Inc. and Community Support Services celebrated the grand opening of the Commons at Madaline Park II which will house individuals who are homeless or have special needs. The development is located adjacent to the Commons at Madaline Park, the first phase of the development, that opened in 2014.

The Commons at Madaline Park II involves the new construction of a single four-story building, featuring on-site management, laundry facilities, outdoor picnic area, computer room, community room, exercise room, and storage for residents and staff. National Church Residences will manage Commons at Madaline Park II and provide on-site supportive services.

Each home includes energy efficient appliances, large closets, an intercom security system, carpet, window coverings, and central air conditioning.

Financing sources for the Commons at Madaline Park II include low income housing tax credits and an Ohio Housing Trust Fund HDAP grant through the Ohio Housing Finance Agency, a construction loan provided by FirstMerit Bank, funding through the Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati, The City of Akron and Summit County.  Equity investment was provided by Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing.
