Log Pond Opens its Doors

Log Pond Apartments recently opened its doors after a $6 million renovation to the family housing development in Newark, Ohio.  The community was originally constructed in 1979 and provides for 50 affordable family rental homes which are all covered by a HUD project-based Section 8 contract.  Log Pond was developed by Millennia Housing Development, Ltd and is also managed by Millennia Housing Management, Ltd. 

The rehabilitated homes include seven two-story buildings containing attached townhouse apartments and a community building. There are 30 two-bedroom homes, 16 three-bedroom homes, 2 four-bedroom homes, and 2 two-bedroom garden-style homes that are handicap accessible.

Log Pond Apartments features on-site management, laundry facilities, a clubhouse, community patio, exercise room, playground, basketball court, soccer field, picnic pavilion, video surveillance, computer center, and gazebo.  The updated homes contain energy efficient appliances, carpet and vinyl flooring, window treatments, air conditioning, patio, and storage.  Millennia Housing Management offers supportive service cordination to the residents.

Log Pond Apartments was developed using a combination of Low Income Housing Tax Credits and a Housing Development Loan administered through the Ohio Housing Finance Agency, funding from Ohio Capital Finance Corporation, and FNMA insured construction to permanent loan through Bellwether Enterprise Real Estate Capital, LLC.  Equity investment was provided by Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing.
