July 22, 2015—Cleveland Housing Network, Inc. and other partners celebrated the grand opening of Maple Park Place, a new affordable senior community in Cuyahoga County, with a grand opening ceremony on Wednesday.

Maple Park Place is a three-story building featuring 38 one-bedroom and 10 two-bedroom units. Thirty-eight units were built using the U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development 202 program funds while the remaining 10 units operate under the LIHTC program.

The $9 million development features a community room with kitchen, on-site property management, computer center, outdoor terrace/gazebo, laundry facilities, fitness center, craft room and library. Each home contains energy efficient appliances, central air conditioning, window coverings, patios/balconies, and intercom security systems.

Cleveland Housing Network will provide property management and a supportive service coordinator to assist residents, focusing on education and employment, health, home management, financial awareness, transportation, and social activities. Snavely Construction, Inc. was the general contractor and Herman Gibans Fodor, Inc. was the project architect.

Maple Park Place was developed using a combination of Low Income Housing Tax Credits and tax-exempt bonds (underwritten by KeyBank Capital Markets, Inc.) administered through the Ohio Housing Finance Agency, funding through the Federal Home Loan Bank’s AHP program, HOME funds from the Cuyahoga County, HUD 202 Capital funds and General Partner Capital.  Equity investment was provided by Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing.
