OCCH is pleased to announce recent additions and updates to our staff.

Brian Graney, Vice President of Fund Management

Mr. Graney joined Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing (OCCH) in February 2017 as Vice President of Fund Management. Mr. Graney is responsible for managing the upper-tier projections used in OCCH's multi-investor and proprietary investor housing tax credit funds and helping to structure OCCH funds to meet targeted yields. Prior to joining OCCH, he was Director of Acquisitions at Scioto Properties where he assisted with managing a nationwide portfolio of residential real estate devoted to individuals with disabilities. For more than three years, Mr. Graney also served as Associate and Assistant Vice President at Lancaster Pollard where he was responsible for underwriting and processing FHA/FNMA/USDA agency debt transactions in the affordable housing and healthcare sectors. Mr. Graney holds his Juris Doctorate, cum laude and Master of Business Administration from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He also earned his Bachelor of Arts, cum laude from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

 

Royce Lewis, Vice President, Asset Management

Mr. Lewis joined Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing (OCCH) in 2017 as Vice President, Asset Management. In this capacity, he is responsible for managing a team of asset managers, as well as asset managing his own portfolio of properties. He is responsible for assuring compliance with the rules and regulations of the Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program, to include monitoring overall property performance, fair housing, reviewing tenant files for compliance, oversight of financial reporting, operations and investor relations. Mr. Lewis’ team of asset managers oversee a portfolio of 200+ projects located throughout the state of Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and Pennsylvania. Mr. Lewis has over 20 years of apartment real estate experience which includes 10 years in asset management. Prior to joining OCCH, Mr. Lewis worked the last 10 years in the real estate investment trust (REIT) and Private Equity industries. Mr. Lewis holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland-University College, College Park, MD and was awarded the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation from the CCIM Institute in Chicago, IL.

 

Ken Schaefer, Asset Manager

Mr. Schaefer joined Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing (OCCH) in 2017 and currently serves as an Asset Manager. In this capacity Mr. Schaefer is responsible for reviewing project budgets, assisting with the preparation of quarterly financial reports to investors, performing physical property inspections, and reviewing compliance documentation. Prior to joining OCCH, Mr. Schaefer had been an asset manager and project leader at National Church Residences and an asset manager with Paramount Financial Group. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Ohio Dominican University and holds a Master’s of Arts Degree in Workforce Development from the Ohio State University. Mr. Schaefer is a Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor(CAPS) and a National Affordable Housing Professional – Executive (NAHPe). He has also been a high school business teacher and head wrestling coach.

 

Lori Tillis, CPM, HCCP, Vice President, Asset Management

Ms. Tillis joined Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing (OCCH) in 2000 and in 2017 was promoted to Vice President Asset Management.  In this capacity, she is responsible for a team of asset managers,  as well as asset managing her own portfolio of properties She is responsible for assuring compliance with the rules and regulations of the Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program, to include monitoring overall property performance, fair housing, reviewing tenant files for compliance, oversight of financial reporting, operations and investor relations. Mrs. Tillis’ team of asset managers oversee a portfolio of 200+ projects located throughout the state of Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia. Mrs. Tillis has over 32 years of apartment real estate experience which includes 17 years in asset management and 15 years directly managing multifamily and commercial real estate.  Ms. Tillis holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from the University of Rio Grande, Rio Grande, Ohio. She is an active member of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM). Currently, Lori is serving as a Member at Large for IREM Executive Committee and will be serving as a Senior Vice President in 2018. She is the 2006 and 2012 past president for IREM’s Columbus Chapter 42, 2013-2014 Past Regional Vice President for Region 6, which includes Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan and West Virginia and a past member of the HCCP Board of Governors.

 

Anthony Tynan, Asset Manager

Mr. Tynan joined Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing (OCCH) in 2012 and was recently promoted to an Asset Manager. In this capacity Mr. Tynan is responsible for reviewing project budgets, assisting with the preparation of quarterly financial reports to investors, performing physical property inspections, and reviewing compliance documentation. Prior to joining OCCH, Mr. Tynan had been a market study and appraisal analyst at Novogradac & Company. He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from Ohio University and holds a Master’s Degree in Sport Management from the University of Massachusetts. Mr. Tynan holds professional designations as a Certified Property Manager®, Housing Credit Certified Professional, and Certified Occupancy Specialist. He serves on the Board of the local IREM Chapter 42.​

 

Todd Cromwell Retires from OCCH

Todd Cromwell, former Director of Asset Management, recently retired from OCCH after 17 years. Todd was responsible for management of the daily operations of the Asset Management department as well as reviewing project budgets, preparation of quarterly financial reports for investors, performing physical property inspections, and reviewing compliance documentation for his portfolio. In addition, he worked to stabilize high-risk and troubled properties to ensure that the properties performed to meet the investors’ expectations. Todd was an invaluable asset to OCCH and he is greatly missed by his colleagues and friends of OCCH. Congratulations Todd and we wish you well in your retirement!

 


Dr. Holly Holtzen Apppointed New Chief Operating Officer at OHFA

Dr. Holly Holtzen has been announced as the new Chief Operating Office at the Ohio Housing Finance Agency.  Dr. Holtzen became OHFA’s Director of Research and Strategic Planning in December 2009. Prior to joining OHFA, she was a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Sealy Center on Aging where she examined social factors associated with health outcomes among underserved populations. Dr. Holtzen holds a Ph.D. in health services research from Old Dominion University and a master’s degree in public administration from Troy State University. Congratulations!
