Ribbon Cutting for Nickel Plate Plaza


November 1, 2015 - An investment of $5.3 million brought new life to Nickel Plate Plaza, a 48-unit family housing development in Huron County.  Developed by Provident Management, Inc. and WSOS Community Action Commission, the rehabilitation of Nickel Plate Plaza included new kitchens, baths, flooring, interior doors and trim, energy star appliances, energy star central heating and air conditioning, exterior doors, windows, roofs, siding, landscaping, exterior lighting, parking, and the construction of a new community room.    

Nickel Plate Plaza features a library, fitness/wellness center, laundry facilities, and computer room for residents’ use. Homes include new appliances, garbage disposals, window blinds, central air conditioning, and carpet.  WSOS Community Action Commission coordinates supportive services for the residents. 

Nickel Plate Plaza was developed using a combination of Low Income Housing Tax Credits, HDAP (Housing Development Assistance Program), and a Housing Development Loan administered through the Ohio Housing Finance Agency (OHFA), a construction loan through Park National Bank, USDA funding, and a Federal Home Loan Bank AHP grant. Equity investment was provided by Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing.  Premier Management LLC manages the property.
