Groundbreaking Held for Southwick Manor—City of Brunswick's First Tax Credit Development for Seniors

July 25, 2014 – Southwick Manor will bring the first seniors tax credit development to the City of Brunswick in an area that has been encouraging revitalization through mixed use development and targeted for senior housing. The 54-unit, four-story development will feature modern and open floor plans, a community area with kitchen, exercise room, computer area, theater room, laundry facilities, and community green space with a picnic area and grill.

Southwick Manor's one- and two-bedroom units will offer universal design features, energy efficient appliances, and modern amenities. Each unit will provide central air conditioning, kitchen appliances, window treatments, carpeting, dishwasher, walk-in closets, linen closets, breakfast bar, kitchen pantry, and garbage disposal. Service coordination activities will also be provided to the residents.

Southwick Manor was developed using a combination of low-income housing tax credits administered through the Ohio Housing Finance Agency, a construction loan from FirstMerit Bank, a permanent loan from Ohio Capital Finance Corporation/Riverhills Bank, and funding from the Medina Metropolitan Housing Authority. Equity investment was provided by Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing.
