OCCH Welcomes Jimmy McCune - Development Analyst, Acquisitions

Jimmy McCune joined Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing (OCCH) in December of 2015 as a Development Analyst. He provides technical consulting for real estate developers using the LIHTC program to produce and preserve affordable housing. In addition, he generates applications for affordable housing funds from a number of state and federal sources, performs spreadsheet modeling and underwriting, and designs proposal packages for various internal committees. Also, he monitors due diligence material for equity closings. Prior to joining OCCH, Jimmy worked at Novogradac & Company where he assisted in writing market feasibility studies and appraisals for affordable housing developments. Prior to working at Novogradac & Company, he worked as an intern at the Ohio Housing Finance Agency (OHFA) in the office of Planning Preservation and Development where he provided housing planning and policy research. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Geography from West Virginia University, as well as a Master's Degree in City and Regional Planning from The Ohio State University.

 

Kelan Craig Promoted within OHFA

OCCH congratulates Kelan Craig, the new Director of Planning, Preservation and Development (PP&D) at the Ohio Housing Finance Agency (OHFA). Kelan is leading administration of the state’s low-income housing tax credit program, multifamily lending program and several gap financing programs. Prior to joining OHFA as Business and Project Administration Manager, he served as a Compliance Specialist for housing and community development programs at the Ohio Development Services Agency (ODSA). Kelan also served as Housing Preservation Coordinator at COHHIO, undertaking housing preservation program planning, implementation and evaluation as part of the Ohio Preservation Compact, a joint effort between the OHFA, the Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing (OCCH) and COHHIO to preserve thousands of affordable housing units across the state. Before moving to Columbus, Kelan worked as a housing specialist at Freedom House, a homeless veteran's shelter in Portage County, Ohio and for the Portage County Regional Planning Commission. He completed two years of AmeriCorps service working closely with individuals served by the Portage County Board of MRDD. Kelan earned a dual degree in Political Science and Economics from Kent State University and also holds Masters Degrees from Ohio State University in City and Regional Planning and Public Policy and Management. He is also on the Board of the Columbus Landmarks Foundation and is a Disaster Services volunteer with the American Red Cross of Central Ohio. Congratulations Kelan!

 

Vogt Strategic Insights Promotes Vice Presidents to Partners

OCCH is pleased to recognize the promotions of Andrew Mazak and Nathan Young to Partners on the executive team at Vogt Strategic Insights, a local real estate research firm in Columbus, Ohio. Congratulations to these outstanding partners!

Andrew W. Mazak has more than 13 years of experience in the real estate market research field. He has personally written more than 1,200 market feasibility studies in numerous markets throughout the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. These studies include the analysis of Low-Income Housing Tax Credit, market-rate and government-subsidized apartments, student housing developments, farmworker housing projects, condominium communities, single-family subdivisions and senior-living developments, as well as overall community, city, county and statewide housing needs assessments. Mr. Mazak has a bachelor's degree in Business Management and Marketing from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio.



Nathan Young has more than a decade of experience in the real estate profession. He has conducted field research and written market studies in hundreds of rural and urban markets throughout the United States. Mr. Young’s real estate experience includes analysis of apartment (subsidized, Tax Credit and market-rate), senior housing (i.e. nursing homes, assisted living, etc.), student housing, condominium, retail, office, self-storage facilities and repositioning of assets to optimize feasibility. Mr. Young has experience in working with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and has attended FHA LEAN program training. Mr. Young has a bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil) from The Ohio State University and a Master of Business Administration from Ohio Dominican University.
