Brighton Properties
Brighton Recovery Center for Women in Newport, Campbell County, Kentucky, was awarded $25,100 to provide transportation to support the residents by purchasing a mini-van and to purchase a second van to pick up donations to the property. The residents will use the mini-van to attend appointments related to physical and mental health, legal assistance, child protection services, and other key services.

Buckeye Community Hope Foundation
Pleasant Meadows Village in Cuyahoga Falls, Summit County, was awarded $22,440 to send approximately 17 children to the Riverfront YMCA summer day camp for 11 weeks. Children from Pleasant Meadows attended this camp last year and the program was highly successful.

Village Green Apartments in Crooksville, Perry County was awarded $5,000 to purchase various items for the community room including a television, computer and printer, five round tables and 40 chairs.

Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority
The Meadows in Columbus, Franklin County was awarded $17,000 to operate an on-site summer camp at The Meadows for approximately 20 children, ages 6-12. The camp will run for 11 weeks and will provide breakfast and lunch, field trips, arts and crafts, swimming, sports and team building. St. Vincent’s Family Center will operate the camp with additional support from the ADAMH Board, Children’s Hunger Alliance, and Columbus Public Schools.

Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority
Jenkins Terrace in Columbus, Franklin County was awarded $7,500 to create a computer center with software and internet access for the senior citizens of Jenkins Terrace. Three desktop computers and workstations, a printer, software, supplies and internet service are included in the proposal.

The Meadows in Canal Winchester, Franklin County was awarded $18,182 to begin operation of an after school program in partnership with Saint Vincent’s Family Center for school age children of The Meadows.

Community Action Commission of Fayette County
Ivy Glen, Riverbirch Greene & Zachary’s Crossing in Washington Court House, Fayette County was awarded $10,000 to send up to 25 children in the above mentioned properties to four weeks of the 2009 YMCA Summer Day Camp in Washington Court House. Grant funds will be used to pay 75% of the tuition with the balance being provided through YMCA Strong Kids Campaign scholarships. Goals to be achieved include increases in socialization, education and fitness skills.

Community Action Partnership of the Greater Dayton Area
Senior Village at Dayton View in Dayton, Montgomery County was awarded $4,200 to purchase Wii Games, treadmill, and a bingo set to increase their physical activity within the bounds of their own abilities. The goal is to promote resident involvement so they can develop lasting relationships with their neighbors.

Community Housing Network, Inc.
Network Restorations I in Columbus, Franklin County was awarded $8,000 to provide housekeeping training for new and current Network Restorations I residents to promote housing stability and maintenance of units for the long term.

Community Properties Impact Corporation
Community Properties Impact Corporation was awarded $95,800 to send approximately 140 children to various summer camps for up to 10 weeks. Camps involved are operated by the YMCA, Godman Guild, Maynard Avenue United Methodist Church, and the Afro-centric Personal Development Shop. Transportation costs are included. Please note that this award includes $12,600 for 12 children from the Courtyards of Kettering, $6,240 for 23 children from Clubview Apartments, and $76,960 for children from CPO Columbus. Please also note CPO leverages TANF and Title XX funds as much as possible to subsidize the costs of camp.
