Angela M. Mingo Appointed as Board Chair for Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing Board of Directors

OCCH is pleased to announce that Angela M. Mingo, director of community relations for Nationwide Children’s Hospital, has been appointed to serve as Board Chair for the Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing. Ms. Mingo has been a member of the OCCH Board since 2015 and previously served as Vice-Chair. She also chairs the OCCH Philanthropic Committee and serves as advisor to the OCCH Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee.

“Angela’s time on the Board, her experience working in government, her work with supporting local affordable housing initiatives, and her commitment to the OCCH mission and culture has provided valuable insight and leadership to OCCH,” said Catherine Cawthon, OCCH president and CEO. “We are excited for the future of OCCH as we move forward with Angela as Chair.”

Ms. Mingo directs the community engagement efforts of Nationwide Children’s Hospital and works closely with neighborhood and civic organizations. She has been instrumental in the implementation of the Healthy Neighborhoods, Healthy Families initiative, a five-prong approach to neighborhood revitalization efforts on the city’s Southside, led by Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

She is a former mayoral appointed commissioner with the City of Columbus Community Relations Commission and served on the commission’s executive board. She serves as a gubernatorial appointment to the Ohio Lottery Commission. Ms. Mingo also serves on the board of Leadership Columbus and Habitat for Humanity. She is a member of the Fifth Third Community Advisory Forum, the Greater Columbus Community Helping Hands Advisory Council, and the Anchor Institute Taskforce Advisory Council. She is a graduate of the Leadership Columbus 2012 Class and past participant in the Big Brother, Big Sisters mentoring program.

Ms. Mingo earned bachelor’s degrees in Portuguese and international relations as well as her Master of City and Regional Planning degree from The Ohio State University. Her honors include Columbus Business First Health Care Heroes Award, Greater Columbus Community Helping Hands Community Relations Ambassador Award, and recognition in Who’s Who in Black Columbus. Ms. Mingo is married to former Franklin County Auditor Clarence E. Mingo.
