Commitment to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

OCCH is committed to being an employer that welcomes all people, and we strive to be a place of inclusion and belonging. We endeavor to understand and embrace the rich and diverse backgrounds that make us each unique – our passions, cultures, perspectives, identities, and challenges. Different thoughts, opinions, and life experiences do not just benefit our teams; they lead to greater innovation and better outcomes for our partners and the communities we serve. Beyond our vision of creating a world where stable, affordable housing is available to all, we aim to challenge biases; and we stand in solidarity with our employees and communities to address and eliminate injustices. We are intentional about cultivating diversity, equity and inclusion in our workplace and partnerships, and we have a dedicated team focused on transforming the way we do business - through representation, education, allyship, and opportunity.

Our Mission

Our mission is to advance the preservation, production, and management of affordable housing through collaborative partnership and innovative thought leadership.

Vision Statement

We envision a world where stable, affordable housing is available to all, and the residents and communities we serve feel supported and empowered to grow and thrive.

Affiliates

Driven to serve our communities and residents and help our partners be successful, OCCH created three affiliates to address critical needs.

Ohio Capital Impact Corporation

Community Properties of Ohio

Ohio Capital Finance Corporation

OCIC

OCCH formed the Ohio Capital Impact Corporation (OCIC) in 2012 as the non-profit, philanthropic arm of Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing. OCIC provides funding to support organizations and strategies that enable residents of affordable housing developments to expand opportunities and improve their life outcomes.

Since the fund’s inception, OCIC has raised nearly $31 million, funded through OCCH’s retained earnings and with support from Huntington Bank, Key Bank, Fifth Third Bank and JP Morgan Chase. OCIC has awarded grants to partners for activities and programs that seek to assist residents in removing barriers, enhance educational and economic opportunities, and empower residents working creatively to enhance and revitalize their communities.

CPO

Formed in 2003, Community Properties of Ohio (CPO) is the property management affiliate of Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing and manages a variety of affordable housing communities. CPO Management goes beyond traditional property management in providing innovative resident programs to promote long-term goals and self-sufficiency. Our mission is to provide quality affordable housing, link residents with resources that stabilize their housing, and assist residents to move beyond poverty where possible.

CPO Impact, our supportive services affiliate, helps fund resident-focused initiatives that address five core objectives: stable housing, safe neighborhoods, resident growth (including moving beyond poverty where possible), successful children and community learning.

OCFC

The Ohio Capital Finance Corporation (OCFC) was formed in 2002 as the nonprofit lending affiliate of Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing. OCFC is a certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) and member of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati and Opportunity Finance Network.

OCFC provides flexible financing products for affordable housing and community development activities. Over 20 years, OCFC has lent nearly $1 billion for the production, rehabilitation, and preservation of over 32,000 units of affordable housing as well as numerous community development projects across six states.
