BBVA Compass and Opportunity Finance Network Select Jonathan Welty for the 2018 Opportunity Fellows Program

Jonathan Welty, OCCH Vice President and President of Ohio Capital Finance Corporation (OCFC), a certified CDFI entity, was selected for the prestigious 2018 Opportunity Fellows Program, a joint initiative to increase the CDFI’s industry leadership and drive access to capital in underserved communities.  The selection committee chose 27 Opportunity Fellows from among 79 applicants, all industry leaders at community development financial institutions.

Welty leads OCFC, the CDFI lending affiliate of OCCH, and is instrumental in directing the $100 million of loan capital dedicated to affordable housing. Through the Opportunity Fellows Program, Welty will receive nine months of training designed to empower CDFI leaders to initiate organizational change that promotes diversity and encourages responsible, equitable investment in underserved communities.

Welty joined OCCH in 2000 and serves as the Secretary/Treasurer and Board Member for the Community Development Collaborative of Greater Columbus, is the Past Chair of the First Community Church Foundation Board of Trustees, Trustee of the Community Shelter Board and is a member of the Rebuilding Lives Funder Collaborative and the Ohio Preservation Compact.  He is also a member of the Key Community Development Corporation’s New Market Tax Credits Advisory Board and a 1999 Graduate of Leadership Columbus.
