The OCIC team conducted a summer camp site visit of YMCA Camp Ernst with key partners, including, Heritage Bank, The Housing Authority of Covington, and YMCA Camp Ernst. YMCA Camp Ernst is a week-long overnight camp located in Burlington, KY. Camp Ernst provided a tour of the facilities, including a high-ropes course, lake- front activities, horse-back riding, archery, and much more! YMCA Camp Ernst provides traditional summer camp activities, and challenges students in team building activities, communication, and role-modeling for youth. YMCA Camp Ernst Executive Director, Eli Cochran, stressed how important summer camp is now more than ever for youth through the two-year COVID-19 pandemic. Students have faced social isolation, struggles with academic curriculum, and lack of socio-emotional skills the past two years. Summer camp is an incredible way to start rebuilding those skills for youth. OCIC is so grateful to be a part of this impactful summer camp experiences at YMCA Camp Ernst for youth residents of the housing authority. This would not be possible without the generous support of our impact investor, Heritage Bank. Thank you to our partners who make this possible!
