Impactful Summer Camp Experiences: Learning, Collaborating, Creating!

ERS
The OCIC team partnered with Episcopal Retirement Services, Inc. to provide 20 youth residents at Thomaston-Woods critical on-sight summer camp programming. ERS teamed up with Champion Island, summer enrichment program provider, to provide youth comprehensive social, emotional, and intellectual programming through cross-curricular STEAM (science, technology, engineering, math, and art) education. Champion Island provided weekly themed lessons, including, Shark Camp with a field trip to the Newport Aquarium and Discovery Center, and Entrepreneur and World Travels Camp including a field trip to Jungle Jim’s International Market. Thank you to ERS for your hard work this summer and ensuring a safe and enriching summer camp environment for youth residents this year!

Columbus MHA
The OCIC team recently visited CMHA’s summer camp program located at Indian Meadows, a family property located in the Far South neighborhood of Columbus. CMHA has partnered with After School All Stars (ASAS) and Urban Minority Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Outreach Program (UMADOP) to provide summer camp enrichment programming to nearly 75 elementary and middle school aged students. Both summer camp providers offer health and fitness activities, academic enrichment programs including STEM, and visual performing arts opportunities. OCIC team members loved spending time with the youth residents at Indian Meadows.  Thank you to CMHA Leadership Team and Resident Services team for their hard work in ensuring students have a safe and happy summer!
