Ohio Capital Impact Corporation (OCIC) Awards Send 800 Kids to Summer Camp

April 12, 2019

The Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing Board of Directors recently approved $500,000 in OCIC funding to provide summer camp opportunities for more than 800 kids residing in OCCH developments. OCCH partners negotiated with local camps, often the local YMCA camp, to find the best opportunities for kids to keep learning and growing while also having fun. This year, children will get to attend over 30 different camps throughout Ohio and Kentucky.

OCCH funds camp through the Ohio Capital Impact Corporation, a 501c3 nonprofit subsidiary funded through OCCH and investors, including long-time camp supporters Huntington CDC and Fifth Third CDC. Quality summer camp programs with opportunities for experiential learning help to ensure that children are gaining, not losing, ground both academically and socially over the summer.
