Inaugural Race for a Place (to Call Home) Raises Dollars for Affordable Housing in Our Local Community

April 7, 2018

On April 7, the Ohio Housing Finance Agency (OHFA) and Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing (OCCH) held the inaugural Race for a Place (to Call Home) 5K in downtown Columbus. In total, 580 people registered for the race, including OCCH and OHFA staff and other members of the affordable housing community in central Ohio.

Thanks to their support, OCCH and OHFA were able to donate over $20,000 to the Community Shelter Board, which works to end homelessness in central Ohio. Furthermore, the race provided an opportunity to spread awareness about affordable housing and the positive impact it has on communities, from adding local jobs to providing quality, safe housing for individuals and families.

OCCH and OHFA would like to thank all of the sponsors, volunteers, walkers, runners and staff who made this first-ever event a success. We look forward to seeing you at the next Race for a Place (to Call Home) 5K!
