Navigating Change Together

I hope this message finds you all well and staying cool! Summer is a wonderful time to connect with family, participate in outdoor activities and slow down to enjoy the season. It is crazy to think half of 2022 is behind us! OCCH is celebrating impactful achievements and we have many to thank for our continued success. We are excited to close our next multi-investor Fund in July and Ohio Capital Finance Corporation (OCFC) has been awarded $12 million from the CDFI’s Capital Magnet Fund. With this latest award, we will continue to grow our efforts in communities that are in desperate need of resources to bring safe, affordable housing to all.

Continuing to Serve You!

At OCCH, we are diligently working with our current partners and new partners in navigating the latest challenges in the ever-changing world of affordable housing. As the headwinds grow, we find our expertise in the housing market lends the stability our partners depend on and expect. I want to emphasize this point! In many of our transactions, we work together for 15 years and beyond. Understanding the expectations and needs of each partner is crucial to working together successfully and navigating the challenges that arise during our time together.

Working proactively with our partners on solutions to navigate the challenges of rate increases, limited funding, and other issues is the only way we will ensure our industry remains steady, housing needs are filled and more families are provided the stability they need today more than ever. We are eager to keep the critical work we do together moving forward.

While change is always constant, it does not become any easier to say farewell as colleagues decide to step back and enjoy more time with family. As our longtime friend and advocate for the homeless, Bill Faith retires, we want to thank him for his tremendous commitment, tenacity, and big heart for those needing assistance. Words cannot express our gratitude for Bill’s unwavering support to our communities’ residents.

OCCH Board Update

OCCH has been truly blessed through the years to have tremendous strength and unwavering commitment from our board members. All have been leaders and well-respected members within their communities, and a few have served OCCH for decades. Our Board has worked tirelessly for OCCH and is instrumental in advancing our ability to work towards stronger communities by growing affordable housing opportunities. As we welcome Angela Mingo to the Chair of Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing, I would like to thank and recognize Susan Weaver for her service as board Chair of OCCH and its affiliates for the past two years. I want to thank Susan for her time as she has brought her depth of knowledge and commitment to our mission and to our organization. OCCH is thankful for her service as Chair and equally thankful for her willingness to continue to serve on our board as Vice Chair.

All the best,
Catherine
