Moving Forward with Optimism

As we know, times have been tough lately. We all have been facing new obstacles, challenges, and problems adjusting to life within a global economic and health crisis. But now we have some good news; we have vaccines which bring optimism that our former way of life can someday return. As I think about that, I wonder when that day does come, how has this experience altered how we all move forward in our work and our lives? What new opportunities for innovation, improvement, and the advancement of equity and justice will surface within our communities and our industry? I am optimistic that we will use what we have learned to advance and promote change in our businesses and lives for the better.

OCCH’s priority for the past year and a half has been to support our employees and their families, our partners and clients, and those we serve by remaining focused on advancing affordable housing opportunities, increasing support to our staff and clients, and implementing new programs and solutions for our residents struggling to make ends meet.

During this pandemic, our industry called out for us to innovate, to do things differently; and I believe that together we are doing just that. OCCH will be recognizing the innovation, impact, and inspiration of your work at the upcoming investor and partner celebration on May 26.

We continue to be fully engaged within the affordable housing industry and with our partners and we are eager to keep the critical work we do together moving forward. OCCH is strategically capitalizing Ohio Equity Fund XXXI (OEF XXXI), which will support the financing needs of affordable properties within our footprint.

Our work together is more vital now than ever before. We are committed to working diligently to meet new challenges and your changing needs with expertise and action. We embrace the opportunities provided with renewed optimism.

Be safe and be well.
